Past Tense Clothing will open a permanent store at 65 High Street in Holywood this May Bank Holiday. The business specialises in sustainable vintage items sourced from Europe and beyond.

Robbie Miller founded the brand after returning from four years in Berlin during Covid. It has operated as a roaming pop-up at universities, local markets and in collaborations with businesses.

Miller selected Holywood for the fixed location after testing pop-ups there. He noted strong local support for independent shops and demand for second-hand clothing.

The first pop-up took place at a cafe in Holywood. Miller described it as his busiest event after heavy promotion.

The store will stock 1980s and 1990s sportswear, knitwear, fleeces and items from brands including Levi's, Dickies, Carhartt and Ralph Lauren.

Miller stated that second-hand shopping provides better quality and unique pieces compared to new clothing.
