Funeral Held for Ballymena Father Killed in Motorbike Crash
Jim Wylie from the Ballymena area died following a collision between a car and a motorbike at the junction of Crankill Road and Tullygrawley Road in Ballymena on April 13.
Detective Inspector Stewart of the Collision Investigation Unit stated that emergency services attended the scene where the motorcyclist was pronounced dead.
A funeral service for the father-of-three took place at a church in Ballymena. Rev Mark Rodgers addressed the congregation and noted the family's recent celebration of Mr Wylie's daughter's wedding seven weeks prior.
Rev Rodgers expressed sympathy to the family and read from Revelations 21 about hope beyond such days. He also cited Psalm 121 and described Mr Wylie as someone who helped those in need.
Mr Wylie's brother Alan spoke at the service. He thanked those who stopped at the crash scene to assist and held Mr Wylie's hand.
Alan told the family that Mr Wylie was loved widely and could befriend anyone. He recalled the joy at the daughter's wedding where Mr Wylie was the proudest man.
Alan stated his belief that Mr Wylie is now with God and issued an appeal for motorbike riders to take care on the roads.
