A committee organising the centenary of the first Carrowdore 100 Road Race from 1927 will hold a film screening on Friday, April 17, at 8pm in Carrowdore Presbyterian Church hall.

Admission costs £10 per person and covers refreshments.

The main film, 'The Last Lap', covers Brian Steenson's life. It traces his education from primary school in Killyleagh and Down High School to engineering studies at Queen's University Belfast.

The documentary includes his motorcycle racing achievements alongside details of his relationship with Irene, met at Down High School.

Materials featured comprise pictures, archive film, re-enactments, memorabilia and cartoons related to his races and personal activities.

Stephen Watson from BBC Sport narrates the film. Colin James directed it and Rowland White produced it.

The supporting programme shows footage of the Carrowdore 100 event and Vintage Motor Cycle Club Circuit Run from 2025. It also includes historic clips from the North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix, plus a trailer for the Carrowdore 100 Centenary Film set for September 2027.
