Omagh GAA Club Runs Fitness Circuit for Children
Omagh St Enda’s GAA club in Tyrone held a fitness event for children and teenagers aged eight to 18 at Healy Park this week. Around 100 participants completed a circuit with running, functional exercises, wall balls, ski machines, rowing machines and floor workouts.
Cain Bradley, the club’s games development officer and a player, organised the event. He stated the goal was to offer an active inclusive activity for young people over Easter. Bradley noted the event welcomed members and non-members alike and promoted it via local primary schools, community groups and leisure centres.
The exercises were adjusted for different age groups. Each participant received a medal, goodie bag and ice cream upon finishing.
Total Workout Gym in Knockmoyle facilitated the event. Gym owner Darren Teague said the setup introduced children to fitness challenges suitable for all ages.
