A 29-year-old man returned to Northern Ireland from Germany on April 9, 2026, to face trial for offences in the Portrush area in November 2018.

Police in Essen, Germany, arrested him on January 22, 2026, under a warrant from Coleraine detectives. Extradition proceedings ended with his arrival in Northern Ireland.

He faces charges of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

Antrim Crown Court released him on bail on March 29, 2023. He missed his trial on September 11, 2023, leading to an arrest warrant.

Sergeant Davey of the International Policing Unit said the extradition shows police commitment to finding fugitives from Northern Ireland. He credited cooperation with national and international partners for locating, arresting, and returning the man.

Sergeant Davey stated police will pursue anyone who skips bail or leaves Northern Ireland to evade charges.

The man will appear at Antrim Crown Court on April 10, 2026.
