Police received a report of a suspicious device in the Feystown Road area of Glenarm, County Antrim, shortly after 10am on Monday, April 6. Ammunition Technical Officers attended and carried out a controlled explosion on the item. The device was confirmed viable.

Three people were arrested: two men aged 43 and 47, and a woman in her 70s. The 43-year-old man was charged with committing an act intended to cause an explosion likely to endanger life or damage property, obstructing police, and possessing fireworks without a licence. He appeared at Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, April 8.

The 47-year-old man was released from custody. Police sent a report to the Public Prosecution Service on an obstructing police charge against him. The woman in her 70s was released, with a report also forwarded to the Public Prosecution Service.

All charges underwent review by the Public Prosecution Service. Detective Inspector Lenaghan appealed for information from anyone in Feystown Road between 4am and 5am on April 6 who saw suspicious activity or has relevant CCTV footage.
