Legrand, a French industrial business, has acquired TES Group, an engineering firm based in Cookstown, County Tyrone. The deal's value exceeds £100m, though exact terms remain undisclosed.

TES Group specialises in power systems for data centres. These facilities house computer servers essential for artificial intelligence operations and require substantial uninterrupted power and cooling systems.

Foresight, the private equity firm that invested in TES two years ago, achieved a fourfold return. Brian Taylor, TES chief executive, noted the company expanded operations rapidly in recent years.

TES opened a new manufacturing facility in Ballykelly, County Londonderry. The firm will keep running sites in Cookstown and Ballykelly post-acquisition.
