Camlin Group, a manufacturer based in Lisburn, will be acquired by Siemens Energy.

The company produces equipment used to monitor electricity grid performance. Its products address the growing complexity of grid management driven by renewable energy expansion.

In 2024 Camlin recorded a pre-tax profit of £8.4m on turnover of £88m. The company employs around 650 people across its global operations.

The transaction value has not been disclosed, though estimates place it between £150m and £250m. Completion remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected before the end of 2026.

Peter Cunningham, chief executive, stated that local management will continue and that the existing leadership team will remain in place. He said customers will experience no change to business operations.

The Cunninghams, who founded the group in 2010, are the majority shareholders alongside outside investors and senior managers. John Cunningham previously sold his Kelman business to GE Energy in 2008.

Tim Holt of Siemens Energy said the acquisition will combine Camlin's products and software with Siemens Energy's scale to support data-driven grid operations.
