Police in Dungannon are seeking witnesses after a man suffered an assault during an aggravated burglary on Whitebridge Road. The incident occurred on Sunday at around 9.30pm.

Detective Inspector Ryan stated that the victim had parked his van outside his home when a white van pulled up behind it. As he exited his vehicle, two males wearing dark clothing, balaclavas and gloves attacked him.

The assailants wrestled the man to the ground and punched and kicked him to the head and body. One struck him with a baseball bat. They then tied him up while searching the house and van.

The burglars took a quantity of cash, keys and a phone. A report reached police at 11.30pm.

Enquiries continue. Police request information from anyone in the area who saw suspicious activity or holds CCTV, dash-cam or other footage.
