Police charged a 34-year-old man with common assault and possessing a bladed article in a public place after a report of a man with a knife in Newtownabbey.

The incident occurred in the Greencastle Close area on 25 March. Officers detained the man shortly afterwards in the Shore Road area.

He is scheduled to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on 22 April. The Public Prosecution Service will review the charges as standard procedure.
