Ards and North Down Mayor Gillian McCollum, along with councillors Pete Wray and Joe Boyle, launched the Trucks at the Track event at Kirkistown race track near Cloughey. The event is set for June 13 and 14.

Committee chairman Gareth Blaine stated the event marks its third year, with plans to expand. Organisers have grown the committee and added partners to enhance the show. They introduced a truck run and light show, extending activities over two days. The programme includes family entertainment and concludes with a convoy through the Ards peninsula.

Blaine noted entrants from Scotland, Ireland, and Wales joined last year. Registration for vehicles is open. Contact details are available via email for participants.

Councillor Pete Wray called the event a key date on the Ards peninsula calendar, crediting volunteers' efforts.

Councillor Joe Boyle praised the organising group for their commitment. He highlighted potential for the largest such event in Ireland and a strong partnership with Kirkistown race track management.
