Economy Minister Raises Employment Rights Payment Limits from April
Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald announced increases to limits on payments and awards for workers' employment rights. The changes take effect from 6 April.
The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal rises from £118,455 to £123,785. The cap on a week's pay for statutory redundancy payments goes up from £749 to £783.
These limits also cover guarantee payments when employees lack work and minimum basic awards for unfair dismissal in health and safety cases.
Dr Archibald stated that her focus includes protecting workers' employment rights through fair compensation.
The annual adjustments align payments with inflation via the Retail Prices Index.
