Directors of a Belfast-based cleaning services company have accepted seven-year undertakings barring them from acting as company directors. James Lunn, 55, and Catherine McHugh, 37, both of Moira Road in Hillsborough, County Down, gave the undertakings to the Department for the Economy.

The company, Malone Cleaning Group Limited, had its registered office at 2-14 East Bridge Street, Belfast, BT1 3NQ. It entered liquidation on 7 November 2022. Creditors faced an estimated deficiency of £24,001, while members faced £24,003 after accounting for £2 in share capital.

The Department accepted Lunn's undertaking on 27 February 2026 and McHugh's on 2 March 2026. The acceptance followed their undisputed unfit conduct as directors.

In the financial year starting 1 April 2025, the Department has accepted 18 disqualification undertakings. Courts issued five disqualification orders in the same period.
