The High Court issued an eight-year disqualification order against David John Weir, 54, of Acorn Street in Dunfermline. Weir previously lived on Whitesides Road in Randalstown, County Antrim.

The order relates to his role as director of Weir Travel Limited, a travel agency with a registered office at 26 New Row, Coleraine, BT52 1AF.

The company entered liquidation on 21 January 2022. Creditors faced an estimated deficiency of £291,870, plus £30,000 in share capital, for a total member deficiency of £321,870.

The court made the order on 8 January 2026 due to Weir's unfit conduct as director. That conduct was not disputed in the disqualification proceedings.

Prior to this order, the Department for the Economy accepted 11 disqualification undertakings since 1 April 2025. Courts issued three disqualification orders in the same period.
