Carrick Rangers Hosts 150 US Investors at First International Conference
Carrick Rangers football club in Carrickfergus hosted its first international investment conference, drawing 150 investors from the United States. The visitors form part of a broader group of more than 2,200 backers for the club.
Mid and East Antrim councillor Aaron Skinner welcomed the group and noted the event's value in highlighting local attractions. He stated that the visitors' commitment showed trust in the club and the town.
Investors John Demakas and Chris Fechter attended the conference. Demakas pointed to Americans' family links to Northern Ireland as a factor in building new community bonds. Fechter thanked residents for their hospitality and expressed interest in returning.
The visit concluded at Taylors Avenue with Carrick Rangers defeating Linfield 2-0. Skinner called the result an ideal demonstration of the club's potential.
Skinner credited Peter Clarke and Michael Smith with organizing the conference. He said the influx supported local businesses and increased the town's visibility.
