NI Water has completed its first paid work-experience placement under a facilities management contract with GRAHAM.

Sam Millar from Foyle Action Mental Health took part in the 12-week program. He worked at multiple NI Water sites on practical tasks.

Millar supported engineers on planned maintenance. He assisted electricians with lighting and cabling. He joined building fabric engineers on painting, plastering, concrete repairs, and plaster boarding.

The placement included a visit to NI Water sites on Rathlin Island to replace a field and livestock gate.

GRAHAM Contract Manager Mark Drennan stated that Millar showed strong effort and built confidence during the placement. Drennan noted a positive working relationship between Millar and GRAHAM Multi Skilled Engineer Declan Bryson.

NI Water Senior Contract Manager Kieran Harkin met Millar and heard about the benefits of the experience. Harkin described it as an example of social value from contracts and partners.
