Fermanagh Singer Tutors at Irish Music Event in Castlewellan
Aoife Cathcart from Enniskillen tutored at the Nancy Rodgers Weekend in Castlewellan, Down. The event took place during a festival organised by Newcastle Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
The weekend honours Nancy Rodgers, a former honorary president and committee member of the Newcastle branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
Cathcart tutored singing and displayed her skills in traditional style. She performs at Comhaltas events, weddings and ceremonies in Fermanagh.
Newcastle CCÉ stated that Cathcart teaches singing privately and received Entertainment of the Year at the 2022 Northern Ireland Wedding Awards in Fermanagh.
She released a five-track album titled Follow the Heron on Spotify. Cathcart plans to participate in a 12-hour fundraising show for the Fermanagh Fleadh.
She has competed at Ulster level in traditional singing and represented Fermanagh on TG4 and Highland Radio.
Cathcart performed in Australia, including a concert at the Gaelic Club and Amhrán na bhFiann at an Irish Support Agency event.
She performs with family members, including sister Eimear on banjo, brother-in-law Sean Dolan on button accordion and father John on fiddle. She has appeared at fleadhs and festivals across Ireland.
