A 27-year-old woman from Duddy's Court in Derry/Londonderry appeared in court charged with driving while unfit through drink or drugs, possessing pregabalin and having a knife in her possession.

Caoimhe Walshe received a 12-month probation order and 60 hours of community service. District Judge Conor Heaney disqualified her from driving for one year and fined her £165.

Police stopped her vehicle on Moneymore Road near Magherafelt on June 19 last year after reports of swerving. Officers noted slurred speech but a negative roadside alcohol test.

Searches found pregabalin blister packs in the footwell and her shorts, plus a knife in the car. A blood test detected traces of cocaine and diazepam.

Judge Heaney required Walshe to address risk-taking behaviour and poor decision-making as a probation condition.
