Police in Northern Ireland are asking for public help after a burglary in the Downing Park area of Portstewart. The incident took place between 6pm and 10pm on Friday, March 13, while the property stood empty.

A pane in a rear door was smashed to allow entry. Two bedrooms inside were searched through, and cash along with jewellery was taken.

Detective Sergeant McKernan stated that investigations continue. He asked anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to call 101 and give reference number 1646 13/03/26.

Residents should review their CCTV or doorbell camera recordings, McKernan added. Reports can also go online through the PSNI website or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
