Police in Newry arrested a 47-year-old man after a burglary report in Cloghoge, south Armagh, on Friday, March 13.

The incident occurred on Chancellor's Road. Officers received the call just after 10am about a burglary in progress at an unoccupied property.

A resident and a relative detained the suspect after he entered the property. A struggle during the confrontation caused injuries to the relative. Police described the injuries as not life-threatening.

Stolen items were found nearby. An outhouse at the property suffered substantial damage.

The suspect remains in custody on suspicion of burglary and grievous bodily harm.

Inspector Reynolds requested information on suspicious activity in the area on Thursday night or Friday morning. Police seek CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage.
