Belfast police advise visitors to plan travel in advance for St Patrick's Day events on Monday. The SPAR Craic 10K race starts at Belfast City Hall at 9am. Runners proceed through the city centre to Ormeau Park. Traffic controls apply along the route.

The carnival parade launches from Belfast City Hall at 1.30pm. It follows Chichester Street, Victoria Street, High Street, and Castle Place. The route loops back via Donegall Place to City Hall. Delays occur from 1pm to 3.30pm.

Chief Inspector Mark Conway urged safe celebrations. He advised staying with friends, drinking responsibly, and arranging transport home.

Police coordinate with event organisers, Belfast City Council, Queen’s University Belfast, Ulster University, and local schools. The work targets prevention of street gatherings in south Belfast residential zones.

Conway noted those areas function as homes, not nightlife venues. He called for responsible behaviour on the public holiday.
