Belfast City Council Announces Traffic Disruptions for St Patrick's Day Events
Belfast City Council has scheduled traffic diversions in and around the city centre on Tuesday, March 17, for St Patrick's Day events.
Drivers should plan journeys in advance and allow extra time to enter and exit the city centre.
The SPAR Craic 10K race, organised by Aisling Events, starts at City Hall at 9am and finishes at Ormeau Park. The route passes through the city centre, Falls Road, Shaftesbury Avenue and Ormeau Road from around 8am to 11am.
The council's St Patrick's Day parade begins at City Hall at 1.30pm. It follows a circular route via Chichester Street, Victoria Street, High Street, Castle Place and Donegall Place before returning to City Hall.
Rolling traffic diversions operate from 12.30pm to 3.30pm in those areas and surrounding zones.
Road closures apply from 12.30pm to 6pm in the Cathedral Quarter for the St Patrick's Music Festival.
Translink provides a free service throughout the day, though some diversions may affect buses during the parade.
Check display screens at bus stops or visit translink.co.uk for updates. Full details on events, closures and traffic arrangements appear at belfastcity.gov.uk/stpatricks.
