Laura Murphy's natural energy snack company Oatco Superfuel from Omagh in Co Tyrone secured investment on BBC One's Dragons' Den. The episode aired on March 12. Murphy accepted a deal from entrepreneur Steven Bartlett after receiving offers from three investors.

Murphy started the business in 2024 to offer better on-the-go snack options. She aimed to address the lack of tasty functional snacks and combat afternoon energy dips during workdays.

Oatco Superfuel already stocks products in Tesco and Spar supermarkets in Northern Ireland. Bartlett praised the health benefits of the snacks' ingredients during the pitch.

Murphy described the show appearance as a key step forward for the brand. She credited her team, local retailers, and Ulster Bank's Accelerator hub for support.

On the broadcast evening, Murphy and her colleagues attended a viewing event at Ulster Bank's Accelerator Hub. She joined a question-and-answer session there with Accelerator Leader John Ferris.

Ferris stated pride in Murphy and Oatco Superfuel's success. He encouraged entrepreneurs to join Ulster Bank's Entrepreneur Accelerator via its app.
