Police in Fermanagh used a stinger to stop a black BMW reported for erratic driving. The incident occurred around 9.10pm on Monday on Killadeas Road towards Enniskillen.

Members of the public reported the vehicle potentially involved in drink or drug driving heading towards Kesh. Officers spotted it travelling at speed and deployed the device pre-emptively.

The car stopped safely after the stinger. The driver faced arrest for multiple traffic offences, including driving while unfit through drugs and assault on police.

A PSNI spokesperson noted that public reports and quick police action prevented potential serious injury.
