Two PSNI officers from E section Armagh received hospital treatment after a flatbed lorry reversed into their patrol vehicle in Co Armagh on Sunday 8 March.

Officers signalled the lorry to stop. The driver reversed into the police car and fled, starting a pursuit.

Local policing teams and traffic units joined to stop the vehicle. The driver tried to ram police vehicles two more times.

Officers deployed stingers three times to halt the lorry.

Police arrested the driver on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs, assault on police, possession of an offensive weapon, and motoring offences.

Both officers will be off duty for several weeks.

A PSNI spokesperson said police target reckless drivers to improve road safety.
