St Teresa’s Primary School in Loughmacrory has won an award for promoting Gaelic games and culture. The school received the honour at the National Cumann na mBunscol Awards held in Co Clare over the weekend.

Staff members from the school attended the event and collected the award in the category for promotion of Gaelic games and culture.

A school spokesperson stated the school felt honoured by the nomination alone. The spokesperson noted the win shows the commitment of staff and pupils to promoting and celebrating Gaelic games and Irish culture within the school.

The spokesperson thanked pupils, staff, families and the community for their support in offering experiences and opportunities to the children.

The spokesperson also thanked the Cumann na mBunscol committee and county delegates for developing Gaelic games in schools at county and national levels.

St Colmcille’s Primary School, a neighbouring school, placed second in its category.
