A local Omagh charity, Fight For Life, donated two Cuddle Cots to maternity services at Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex. The equipment supports families experiencing child loss during pregnancy or after birth.

Fight For Life, composed of community volunteers, raised funds to purchase the Cuddle Cots. The devices allow families additional time with babies who died in hospital or at home.

Members of the community midwifery team and Mrs Brenda McCabe, Lead Midwife for the hospital and community in the Southern sector of the Western Health and Social Care Trust, received the donation from charity representatives Justin Cathal and Ryan.

Mrs McCabe stated that the Cuddle Cots enable families to spend more hours or days with their babies before farewell. She noted that baby loss requires parents to prepare goodbyes instead of nurturing plans.
