St Malachy's Pupils Claim Ulster Schools Cross Country Titles and All-Ireland Places
Two pupils from St Malachy's High School qualified for the All-Ireland Schools Cross Country Final after strong performances at the Ulster Schools Championship Final.
Matthew Crowl placed 15th in the Minor Boys race. Connaire Óg McVeigh finished eighth in the Junior Boys race. Both will compete for the school at the national final on 7 March in Mallusk.
Harry McVeigh won the Year 8 boys individual title. He crossed the line 16 seconds ahead of the field. He is the first boy from St Malachy's to claim an Ulster Schools individual crown. Patricia Keating achieved the same for the school in 1990.
The St Malachy's Minor Boys team of six runners placed sixth overall.
