Nursery staff label identical twins with parcel tape on first day
A 29-year-old mother named Natalya discovered parcel tape attached to the backs of her identical twin daughters' T-shirts after their first day at nursery. The labels were used by staff to distinguish between the girls, Thea and Faye. Natalya has four daughters, all under four years old.
Natalya recorded the twins lying on their stomachs playing at home and shared the footage on TikTok under the username @withnatalya_. The video was captioned 'how my identical twins were sent home from their first day'.
The post received comments from other parents and childcare workers describing similar practices. One individual noted that a nursery initially used labels but later identified the twins by personality differences after a few months.
Another commenter, who works with identical twin toddlers, stated that the mother dressed them in assigned colours, provided colour-coded water bottles, and pierced their ears with pink and purple earrings respectively.
A third comment referenced a daycare owned by identical twins, where the children were sent home with labels after transitioning to a new class for one day.
