Wilsons of Rathkenny Sponsors Mid Antrim 150 Supersport Race Ahead of 2026 Revival
Wilsons of Rathkenny Vauxhall has announced sponsorship for the Mid Antrim 150 Club Supersport Saturday race at the Clough circuit, scheduled for Saturday, August 1, as part of the event's revival in 2026. The Mid Antrim 150 motorcycle road race has been confirmed for the Irish road racing calendar, running on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1, 2026.
The sponsorship handover took place last week, with Managing Directors John Wilson and Darren Wilson, alongside Johnny Wilson, Lee Wilson, and Vauxhall Sales Manager Darren McGarvey, presenting a cheque to race representatives Jack Agnew, Andrew Armstrong, and Wesley Grace. Wilsons will also provide a quad, a van, a Weidemann machine, and the company caravan to support event operations.
The Mid Antrim 150 was last held successfully in 2016 but faced cancellations in 2011 and 2022 due to sabotage involving oil, glass, and nails on the track, as well as financial difficulties. Organisers, led by a new team, report positive resident feedback and sufficient financial resources, including reserves, to proceed.
Jack Agnew, treasurer of the Mid Antrim 150 Club, stated that a recent residents' meeting was positive and that the event has a five-year plan. Wilsons of Rathkenny will host the official press launch on Tuesday, June 30, at its showrooms.
