Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has launched expressions of interest for its 2026/27 Amateur and Grassroots Sporting Organisations Improvement Fund. The capital fund targets sports clubs and organisations that lease or own facilities within the borough.

Projects must have a minimum value of £10,000. The fund covers 50% of capital costs, with a maximum grant of £50,000. Organisations must secure any additional funding required.

Eligible uses include building works such as new builds and extensions, groundworks like paths and fencing, capital equipment, and professional fees up to 10% of the grant.

Councillor Jackson Minford, Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, stated the fund supports improvements to physical, mental, and emotional health. He noted that 13 clubs received over £290,000 in the past three years to enhance facilities and create inclusive opportunities.

The council aims to increase participation, improve user experience, and support performance development. An online information session is scheduled for 14 April 2026 from 6pm to 7pm.

Clubs can request an application pack or session link by emailing regenerationgrants@midandeastantrim.gov.uk. Expressions of interest are due by 5pm on 27 April 2025.
