Holy Child Primary School in Andersonstown, Belfast, has unveiled a new handball wall in its playground area.

The facility was officially opened by Lord Mayor Róis-Máire Donnelly, who cut the ribbon. It was then blessed by St Agnes' parish priest Fr Raymond McCullagh.

School principal Conor Murphy said the new wall has modernised the playground and will allow children to extend their play and develop skills. He noted the school's long tradition of Gaelic games and said the facility will help that tradition continue. He also said it will encourage physical activity, improve fitness, build resilience and confidence, and support health and wellbeing.

Murphy thanked everyone involved in the project, including the school's PTA, for helping turn the vision into reality.

Fiona Shannon from Ulster GAA said the wall is a major asset to the school and expressed hope that every school will get facilities like it. She said Holy Child has been a great ambassador for Gaelic games.
