Ballymena United will attempt to make it three league wins in a row when they travel to Limavady United on Saturday.

A single goal from Igor Rutkowski secured a 1-0 win over Cliftonville last weekend, lifting Ballymena to ninth place in the table. The result marked the first time this season the club has won consecutive league matches.

Manager Oran Kearney said he was pleased with the outcome but acknowledged the performance was not ideal.

"I'm delighted with the three points, delighted with another clean sheet and delighted with a number nine scoring another goal," Kearney said. "But part of it for me, I suppose the perfectionist or whatever you want to call it, it was probably not the ideal way to go and pick up three points."

Kearney said the squad is still developing relationships and understanding, given that it is a new group of players. He said there is still lots of work to do.

Saturday's opponents Limavady United sit three points behind Ballymena, on nine points. Limavady lost heavily to Portadown in their most recent match, which was Portadown's first win of the season, but have performed strongly at home.

Kearney knows Limavady well from his time managing at the Showgrounds after retiring as a player. He is also friends with Limavady manager Paul Owens, having known him as a player and coach during his two spells at Coleraine.
