Briggs Equipment will remain the title sponsor of the North West 200 road race until 2029.

The company, which first entered the agreement in 2024, has extended its sponsorship for another three years. This ensures the event will retain the name 'Briggs Equipment North West 200' through its centenary anniversary.

Colin McNeely, Divisional Director at Briggs Equipment, said in a statement that he was delighted to extend the sponsorship. He described the experience so far as fantastic and expressed eagerness to help the event grow ahead of 2029, which he called a great sporting occasion.

McNeely noted the event has evolved over 100 years and its list of legends continues to grow. He said it was an honour to cement a long-term association with an iconic occasion. He added that discussions and ideas have already taken place for the anniversary.

Mervyn Whyte, Race Director of the North West 200, said the sponsorship extension is an important development for the event as it approaches a landmark juncture. He said support from Briggs Equipment and Balloo Hire over the last three years has underpinned significant improvements.

Whyte said the event currently has the world's strongest line-up of road racing talent each May. He referenced the impact of Storm Stacey during his debut in 2026 and said the organisers are committed to recruiting other new talents alongside established stars.

McNeely also acknowledged the proximity of the centenary event but said there is plenty of work to do for 2027 first. He said every year is a new opportunity to improve the experience for fans and expressed confidence in the organisers.

He added that being involved with the North West 200 has opened his eyes to the passion for road racing among fans, organisers, volunteers, race teams, and sponsors. He said they want to see the event grow year on year and hope to keep setting new standards.
