The Prime Minister delivered his first Labour conference speech as party leader in Liverpool, outlining a series of proposed changes for the United Kingdom.

Speaking for one hour and five minutes, Andy Burnham discussed plans to give the public greater control over housing, water, and energy. He also said the government would set out options for the UK's long-term relationship with the European Union later this year.

Mr Burnham stated that Labour would fight the next election with a commitment to changing the first-past-the-post system used in Westminster contests. The pledge aims to overhaul the electoral system so that every vote counts and every voice is heard.

On pensions, the Prime Minister confirmed plans to reform the current triple lock, which guarantees increases in line with the highest of inflation, earnings, or 2.5%. He said this would free up cash to fund an NHS-style care service in England.

Mr Burnham closed his speech by saying he had given the audience honesty, ideas, and a clear direction for the country.
