The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Yorkshire on Sunday to support Sir Kevin Sinfield's final fundraising challenge for motor neurone disease (MND) charities.

They greeted Sir Kevin at the DIY Kitchens Stadium in Wakefield at the end of the third day of his 7 in 7: The Grand Finale event, where he is running an ultra marathon every day for seven days.

Hundreds of supporters attended, including members of Rob Burrow's family. Burrow, a former Leeds Rhinos player, died in 2024 after living with MND for four and a half years.

The royal couple also visited Leeds Rhinos' ground earlier in the day, meeting former teammates of Burrow, including Danny McGuire and Jamie Jones-Buchanan. They heard about Burrow's influence on the team and the wider rugby league community.

Sir Kevin's fundraising efforts, inspired by Burrow, have raised more than £11 million for MND charities since 2020. Beneficiaries this year include the MND Association, Leeds Hospitals Charity, My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, Darby Rimmer Foundation, MND Scotland, and the Irish MND Association.

The final ultra marathon will conclude at Old Trafford ahead of the Super League Grand Final, where Sir Kevin's son Jack is expected to play for Wakefield against Warrington.
