Fermanagh musician Róis has signed with independent record label Domino, securing a global release for her album MO LÉAN. The remastered album will be released on November 20 and will include a new track, PORT NA H-EALA.

Róis, whose real name is Rose Connolly, is originally from Newtownbutler. Her album MO LÉAN won Album of the Year at the Northern Ireland Music Prize in 2024 and was shortlisted for the Choice Music Prize. In 2025, her track CAOINE won Best Original Folk Track at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards, where she was also named Best Emerging Artist.

Describing her live performances, Róis said she wanted to set a gig at a funeral, drawing on accounts that pagan wakes were debaucherous affairs. She said she aimed to bring that to her music and show because society needs to unsterilise how death is seen and how people are expected to behave.

Raised in a family of traditional musicians, Connolly played in a wedding and funeral band with her sister before studying music composition at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. She later lived in The Hague, where she learned to speak Irish, which she said helped shape the direction of her music.

Ahead of the global release, a live performance of WHAT DO YOU SAY (LIVE FROM A WAKE) has been released. Róis will perform at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts in November and then travel to New York in December for her first live performance in the United States.
