Police are investigating a reported gunshot incident at a house in Downpatrick. The incident occurred on Monday 28 September at around 9.45pm on Colmcille Road.

The female householder heard a loud bang outside and later discovered what is believed to be a strike mark on the wall beside the kitchen window. A man wearing a grey and black coat and blue trousers was seen leaving the area in the direction of nearby fields.

Detective Sergeant Emerson said an investigation is underway and appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious to come forward. Police are particularly interested in dash-cam or doorbell footage that could assist with enquiries.
