A memorial 5K run and walk will take place in Derrylin on Sunday, October 4, to honour Oisín Cassidy, a local runner who died from cancer.

All proceeds from the event will go to Cancer Fund for Children and Cancer Connect, two charities that supported Cassidy during his treatment.

Cassidy's family said it was his final wish that his memory be celebrated through running, a sport that played a major part in his life.

The event follows a previous fundraiser called 'Run the Rock for Oisín', which raised more than £45,000 for the two charities.

Family, friends, and the wider community are invited to participate in the run or walk.
