The Halloween Costume Swap has returned to Derry and Strabane, providing residents with a sustainable way to prepare for the upcoming festivities. The initiative, now in its fourth year, is being held at the Guildhall in Derry and the Riversdale Leisure Centre in Strabane until Halloween.

Mayor Grace Uí Niallais encouraged people to take part, stating that the scheme allows individuals to recycle old costumes and find inspiration for new creations.

Council Waste and Recycling Officer Julie Hannaway highlighted the environmental benefits, explaining that reusing costumes reduces the amount of waste going to landfill and lessens the environmental footprint.

Residents can donate clean, reusable costumes, accessories, and props at either location and also browse the available collection for ideas and pieces.
