The winners of the second annual BBC Northern Ireland Make a Difference Awards were announced live on BBC Radio Ulster's Vinny & Cate show on a Friday morning. Eight individuals and groups were selected from hundreds of nominations received by BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio Foyle since March.

Mencap NI's Healthier Me Ambassadors received an award for using sport and fitness to address health inequalities among people with learning disabilities. The group has encouraged more than 40 people to participate in the Belfast City Marathon.

Ollie Harbinson, a young volunteer from Antrim, was recognized in the Young Hero category for his work supporting children with social communication difficulties and autism as a playground pal at his school.

Daniel McAfee won for his environmental efforts, including leading the Glens Red Squirrel Group, organizing tree-planting projects, and protecting swifts and bats through school visits and guided walks.

Noah Holden received recognition for his volunteer work with AccessoLoo, where he has helped disabled people attend events since age 14, despite living with autism, epilepsy, and dyslexia.

Louise Taylor's Little Forget Me Nots Trust in Lurgan was honoured for providing support to families experiencing baby loss. Taylor expressed pride in her staff upon winning.

Sebastian, a therapy dog with the NSPCC Young Witness Service in Belfast, was awarded for providing emotional support to children in criminal court.

The David James Richmond Foundation in Newtownabbey won for fundraising efforts that have installed over 13 community defibrillators and provided CPR training. The foundation was established following David Richmond's death in 2024.

Stella McGinn received the Great Neighbour Award for her campaign to improve school bus safety after the loss of her 11-year-old daughter. McGinn continues to advocate for stronger measures through community initiatives.

Judges for the awards included former Irish League footballer Liam Beckett, broadcaster Julian Simmons, and BBC News NI weather presenter Barra Best.
