Mid Ulster Council honours local award winners in Cookstown
Mid Ulster District Council held its second annual Arts, Culture and Community Awards at the Burnavon Theatre in Cookstown.
The event recognised individuals and groups for contributions in arts, culture, volunteering, community service, wellbeing and environmental action.
Malachi Cush hosted the ceremony with Councillor Frances Burton, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council.
Winners included Samuel Cuddy for Arts Person of the Year, Lucy Hawe for Young Arts Person of the Year, Dungannon Area All Stars Club for Arts Group of the Year, Coalisland Training Services for the Youth Champion Award, Lissan Over 60's Club for the Age Friendly Award, 1st Steps Women's Centre Dungannon for the Equality and Good Relations Award, 33rd Derry Ballinascreen Scouts for the Community Eco Award, Mid Ulster Wellness Association for the Health and Well-being Award, CRAIC for the Community Safety Award, Trevor Lockhart from COSTA for the Community Champion Award, Michael Murray for Volunteer of the Year, and Michael Carolan for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Councillor Burton presented the awards and stated that the event recognises people and organisations who make a positive difference throughout the district.
She added that the talent, compassion, creativity and community spirit of nominees and winners is inspiring and that each recipient has made a lasting impact.
