Powerscreen, a Tyrone-based manufacturer of mobile crushing and screening equipment, celebrated its 60th anniversary with a series of events across Dungannon and Coalisland on Friday and Saturday.

The company, now part of Terex, began as Ulster Plant Ltd in Edendork in 1966. It pioneered mobile screening technology that could be taken directly to the quarry face, changing industry practices.

To mark the milestone, Powerscreen hosted its inaugural Powerfest, which opened the factory on Coalisland Road to former employees and their families on Friday afternoon. Attendees were given tours and the chance to reconnect with former colleagues.

Family activities were held at the site before the celebrations moved to the Corn Mill car park in Coalisland for an evening event called Take Over The Town. Local musicians performed, and the event was hosted in partnership with Talal Jomar.

The factory reopened to the public on Saturday with more tours and family activities. The annual Pat’s 5 charity run, held in memory of former colleague Pat Mallon, began at noon from the factory. This year’s run raised funds for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.

Sean Loughran, Business Line Director for Powerscreen, said the anniversary was a tribute to the people who have shaped the company since its first day.
