A man and a teenage boy have been arrested after a woman was threatened with a knife at a property in Dungannon on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to Perry Street at around 12.35pm following a report that two suspects had entered a flat and threatened the lone female occupant with a knife. Others were present at the property but only one woman was threatened, police said.

Officers from the Local Policing Team, Armed Response and PSNI Dog Unit attended the scene. A 53-year-old man was detained on suspicion of common assault.

A second suspect, aged 16, was arrested nearby a short time later on suspicion of common assault, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of an article with a blade or point.

Both suspects are currently in police custody and will be questioned in due course. Police enquiries are ongoing.
