TG4's coverage of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026 drew an audience of 456,300 across four nights of live broadcasts, with Friday 7 August the strongest evening at nearly 80,000 viewers. The broadcaster said more than 400 performers took part in the live programming, which was presented by Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, Peadar Ó Goill and Gráinne McElwain.
Viewing on the TG4 Player increased compared with the previous year. Competitions streamed on the TG4 YouTube channel were watched by more than 75,000 people. Social media content generated over four million views during the week.
Ciarán de Buitléir of CCÉ Craobh Caiseal Mumhan in Tipperary won the under-12 storytelling competition. The Lissadel Céilí Band won the 2026 Céilí Bands Competition. These two winners attracted the highest number of online views.
Proinsias Ní Ghráinne, TG4's commissioning editor, said she was proud of the coverage. She said it brought audiences closer to the music, performers and atmosphere through TG4, the TG4 Player and Trad TG4 on YouTube and social platforms. She described the work as a huge collective effort and thanked production partners, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Belfast City Council and the Fleadh Executive Committee.
She added that TG4 was looking forward to returning to Belfast for Fleadh27 in 2027.
