A man has appeared in court charged with non-fatal strangulation, domestic abuse, criminal damage, and threatening and abusive behaviour.

Matthew Biggarstaff, of Blackthorn Hall in Antrim, appeared at Antrim Magistrates' Court sitting in Ballymena.

He was granted bail in the sum of £500, with conditions prohibiting any contact with the complainant and barring him from entering a specified part of Antrim town.

The charges relate to separate dates, the court heard.

The case was sent to Antrim Crown Court for arraignment on 17 September.
