A fire in a field of oat straw near Tandragee, County Armagh, destroyed nearly 10 acres on 12 August.

Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Councillor Tim McClelland, a DUP representative who farms in the area, said the blaze began when a spark ignited the oat straw.

Three fire appliances attended and brought the fire under control. There were no injuries and no damage to buildings.

McClelland thanked the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service for their response and also thanked Megaw Harvesting for assistance. He acknowledged messages of support received from the public.
