Belfast-born artist Jack Coulter has launched a new online solo exhibition titled With Every Light and With Every Song. The show, presented through Winsor Birch gallery, features 25 recent paintings based on music.

Coulter grew up in Belfast and attended Lagan College. He has described hearing colours when he hears sounds, a condition known as synaesthesia. The first memory of this was the sound of his own heartbeat as a young child, which produced pulses of colour.

He later studied fine art at Belfast School of Art before moving to London in early 2022.

Since establishing himself in London, Coulter's work has entered the collections of several notable figures in music and film, including Paul McCartney, Anne Hathaway, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Elton John, and the Freddie Mercury Estate.

In a recent collaboration, Elton John played Tiny Dancer live at his home while Coulter painted alongside him. The resulting artwork sold at auction for $275,000 at an Oscars party event, with proceeds benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Elton John also purchased a Coulter painting titled Candle in the Wind in 2022.
