Carrie-Anne Browne, an Omagh woman and author of two children's books, has died suddenly at the age of 38.

A Requiem Mass was held at Sacred Heart Church in Omagh, followed by burial at Drumragh Cemetery. During the procession from the church to the cemetery, her fiancé Ryan led her dog Buddy.

Fr Kevin McElhennon told mourners that her death was sudden and unexpected, leaving no time to prepare, and he described the grief as particularly difficult for her family. He said she was a gentle, generous and selfless person who avoided attention and preferred quiet, private ways.

She published her first children's book, Bonnie and the Gleam Queen Team, four years ago. The fairytale was inspired by her niece Cara-Rose, who was four at the time. She said writing a children's book had been a long-held dream and that her niece gave her the push to do it. She went on to publish a second children's book.

Carrie-Anne Browne is survived by her parents Connor and Jacqueline, brother Connor, sisters Dearbhla and Sorcha, niece Cara-Rose, and grandparents Tomas and Rosemary Browne. She was predeceased by her grandparents Brendan and Eileen Kelly.
