A community market promoting sustainable fashion is to be held in Cookstown, with proceeds from ticket sales going to two charities.

The 'Vinted in Real Life' event will take place at the Glenavon Hotel, running from 12pm to 3pm. It is being organised by Ailis Corrigan, from Clonoe.

Thirty stalls will offer pre-loved clothing, shoes and accessories, with items displayed, labelled and priced individually. Attendees can browse at their own pace and try on garments where possible.

Ms Corrigan said she was inspired by her own enjoyment of second-hand shopping and the popularity of the online marketplace Vinted. She wanted to recreate that experience offline in a social setting, removing the need for postage and delivery.

Ticket sale profits will be donated to Endometriosis UK, a charity supporting those affected by the condition, and Cancer Focus Northern Ireland, which provides care and support for people with cancer and their families.

Ms Corrigan expressed gratitude for the support received so far, noting that sellers booked stalls quickly and the local response has been positive.
